Fuji Robin: The latest company to join the MAKITA Group
Following the announcement of its intentions in 2007, the Makita Group, the world’s third-largest manufacturer of high-quality power tools, has now successfully completed its acquisition of Fuji Robin, the established Japanese manufacturer of petrol engines, grass trimmers and brushcutters.
Under the terms of the deal Makita has acquired the whole of Fuji Robin’s production, as well as all of its research and development resources. The products made by Fuji Robin, in particular the latest generation of 4-stroke petrol engines, combine outstanding performance with extremely low exhaust emissions, which are up to 50% below the thresholds permitted by law.
With the addition of Fuji Robin to its business portfolio, the Makita Group – which also includes Dolmar, the renowned Hamburg-based manufacturer of power tools – is taking forward its strategy of expansion and diversification by selectively developing its activities in the business field of petrol-driven power tools, alongside its established area of expertise in electric power tools.
